I am Michelle Winter-Nolte co-owner of Mimi’s Kitchen with my husband John. Some people call me Michelle, many call me Mimi and my immediate family frequently calls me Meems. Meems, the screeching, joyous, elongated sound that occurs when something wonderful happens in the kitchen – MMMEEEMMSSSS!
I’ve been cooking and baking for over 30 years. Starting as manager of Frazier Farms Bakery and opening Mimi’s Kitchen in 2001. In these 30 years I’ve discovered that most people have the same food attitude – make it taste good, make it healthy and make it all on a budget. Great food doesn’t have to be expensive! Mimi’s Kitchen was born from this simple concept and we stay true to it to this day. helping clients create healthy menus for special events or daily dining that stay within a client’s budget.
We are big supporters of fresh and organic, farm to table. There are chickens in the yard and almost daily we can be seen at a local farmer’s market shopping for the freshest seasonal produce available. We shop fresh and shop local using ingredients native to San Diego.
We specialize in working with clients to create the food they enjoy while adhering to dietary restrictions including calorie control/weight loss, diabetic, gluten free, vegan, paleo, raw and many more.
We are well known for our baked goods. A healthy sweet treat is one of our cornerstones … cinnamon rolls, cakes, scones… made to your specifications or seasonally.
For larger events, clients turn to us for weddings, corporate events, galas, special events when your budget needs to stretch a bit farther and healthier. Our culinary landscape is vast so when you think it can’t be done, call us.
